Death of Eb Morris.
Eben W. Morris, who had lain at the point of death for many days died Sunday, Mar. 31st, at his home on Austin Avenue, at 10 o'clock p.m. The cause of his death was Bright's disease of the kidneys and his health has been poor for several years. His sufferings have lately been very great, but at the last his departure was peaceful and painless. His age as a littler more than 63 years.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at the residence, at 11 a.m. by Rev. C.D Royce assisted by Rev. B.F. Ferguson. Interment will be at Welch cemtery. The pallbearers will be old soldier comrades.

Obituary
Eb Walter Morris was born in Ross Co., Ohio, Dec. 1st, 1837, died at Rensselaer, Ind., Mar. 31st, 1901 aged 63 years and 4 months. He was named after Rev. Eb Walters, a M.E. minister.
At the age of 15, he moved with his parents to near Circleville, Ohio and at which place he enlisted in the 69th Ohio regiment, May 14, 1862. He served 3 years and the last year in the capacity of a sergeant. At the close of the war he returned to Ohio, and was married there in 1869. His first wife died a few years later, leaving 3 children, Charles, living on the home farm in Jordan another son in Iowa and a daughter in New York City.
He came to Jasper county in 1874, in 1875 married Miss Eunice J. Timmons, of Jordan, who survives him, as do also 4 children born to them, 2 sons and 2 daughters, namely, William of Chicago Heights, Ill., and Pearl, Jesse and Daisy, of Rensselaer.
In 1878 he removed to Kansas, but returned the following year and bought a good farm in Jordan tp., where he lived until last year, when he bought a residence and moved to town.
The funeral was held at the residence Tuesday, April 2nd., under the direction of the G.A. R. Post and Women's Relief Corps; Rev. C.D.Royce, assisted by Rev. B.F. Ferguson conducting the religous services. The pall bearers, all old army conrades, were Wm. Powers, W.H. Rhoades, R.H. Grow, N.S. Bates, Elias Hammerton and Burgess Dillon.
Interment was made in the Welsh cemetery, in Jordan tp.
