Arthur Phillip McClellan, 66, farmer of 8 miles north of Strong City, died August 25, 1944 at a local hospital after an 18-months illness.
He was born September 17, 1878 at Hillsdale, Michigan and was married in 1902(sic) to Miss Nell Neal(sic) who died five weeks after the marriage. He again married in 1908 to Miss Clare Beals, who died in 1942.
He settled in this area in 1904.
Two sons, Jesse and Lafayette McClellan and a daughter Mrs. Alice Welty, all of Strong City survive him, along with six grandchildren.
Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Fred Emmitt, Canton, Oklahoma and brothers L. A. McClellan, Strong City and J. A.(sic) McClellan, Elk City.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon August 27, 1944 from the Strong City Baptist church, Reverend Will Trent, Hammon, officiating, with interment in the Strong City cemetery. Martin-Hullum, funeral directors in charge.
