Irene "Doll" Pitts (1921 - 2012)

Irene "Doll" Pitts passed away Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, at the age of 90. She joined her husband of 55 years, Raymond Leon, who preceded her by 16 years. They are happily together again, which was her greatest wish. Service: 11 a.m. Monday at Blessing Funeral Home. Interment: Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Blessing.

Irene was born July 26, 1921, in Tarrant County. She worked hard to help support her family, by working on the farm, raising three children and numerous grandchildren. She never met a single person who didn't become her friend in minutes. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Lon Gene; brothers, Louis, Clyde, Marvin, Royal "Buster" Berry; sisters, Doris and Lois; granddaughter, Cathy.

Survivors: Daughter, Geneva Doke and husband, Steve; son, Raymond Pitts and wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Christy, Kim and husband, Luis, Stephanie and husband, Casey, Randy and wife, Deanna, and David; eight great-grandchildren.
