Glenn Lamon Morrow died February 8, 2012, just weeks short of her 99 year birthday. Burial in Palestine City Cemetery was under the direction of Bailey & Foster. She was born to Lon Lamon and Mary Ethel Clabaugh on March 12, 1913 in Oakwood, Texas. She was the next to the youngest of four daughters, Ruby Lamon, Minnie Lee Lamon, Lucille Lamon, brother, A.D. Lamon and one step-brother, J.C. Lamon. After the death of their mother in the 1919 flu epidemic, the five children lived with various family members in the Oakwood area until their father remarried. She graduated from Oakwood High School and Nixon Business College. She was predeceased by her first husband, Harvey L. Emert, as well as her second husband, J. P. Morrow and all of her siblings. Glenn worked as bookkeeper in Palestine for many years after her first husband's death in 1951 and retired from Murray Corp. at age 72. She has been a member of the Long Lake Baptist Church since the early 1940's and regularly attended there even after she moved into Palestine. Glenn was an energetic lady who loved her home, yard and family. She is survived by her daughter, Betty A. Holmes and husband Albert W. and their sons, Bert and Frank and wife Angie, and twin great grandsons, Jackson Glenn and Payton Walker. In recent years she attended St. Philip's Episcopal Church with her daughter and son-in-law. She also had a special group of ladies she went out to lunch with at least once a month and they often got together for breakfast. Her passing leaves a large void in the life of her family and friends but she certainly showed us the way to have a long and productive life. In the last month of Glenn's life she was cared for at Cartmell Home for Aged and the family is grateful for the loving care she received from the staff.
