According to New River Notes, the name of Jacob Anderson occurs on the 1781, 2 Apr 1783 and 1785 Rosters of Capt. Enoch Osborn's Militia Company for Montgomery County, Virginia.*
This is the bronze plaque in the John Anderson Family Cemetery commemorating Jacob Anderson, the father of John Anderson. Jacob's actual burial place is believed to be at the nearby Anderson-Hash Cemetery.
Update: As of Nov 2016 the bronze plaque has now been moved to its proper location in the Anderson-Hash Cemetery.
