Chester Gillaspy, 72, of near Leonard, died Monday morning at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Boren also of Leonard. He had suffered a heart attack nearly two weeks ago.

A son of the late William Lewis and Mary Gillaspy, he was born at Leonard on Feb. 15, 1876 and had spent the greater part of his life in that community. He worked in Montana and Wyoming for a short time preceding his marriage to Miss Lula Bodwell about 40 years ago.

Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death, Elwood, James, Notley and Mrs. Annie Kyle.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Melvin Montgomery of north of Clarence and Mrs. Boren; six grandchildren; two brothers, Richard, of Novelty and Preston of Leonard; three sisters, Mrs. Effie Magruder of Clarence, Mrs. Callie ??itt of Hutchinkin, Kans., and Mrs. Fannie Harrison of LaPlata.

Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 o'clock this afternoon at the Christian Church in Leonard with Rev. Martin of Clarence officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
