He was born Oct. 15, 1926, in Dover, Del., and came to Bradenton in 1959 from Upper Marlboro, Md., where he had farmed and owned a general store. He was a greenskeeper at Palma Sola Golf Course and later returned to farming and raising cattle and hay. He was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Parrish.
Survivors include daughters Cece Keller, Charlotte Nielsen and Lois Hopewell, and an honorary daughter, Debby King, all of Bradenton; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Shannon Funeral Home, Town Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Parrish. Burial will be in Mansion Memorial Park, Ellenton.
