Barbara Jean Hill (Smith) (Lauterberg) Novak. Barb was born in Muskegon and lived in and around the Whitehall and Montague area for most of her life. She also spent time at Fort Campbell, Ky and Bunker Hill Air Force Base, Indiana. Barbara also spent three years on the island of Guam, while accompanying her husband at the time, Orville Smith, who was then in the U.S. Air Force. Barb had a very extended family. She was Grandma and Great Grandma to many and was very active in all their lives. She had graduated from Whitehall High School in the mid 50's and was married to Orville Smith shortly after. Together they had six children. Kathy, Orville Jr, Debbie, Steven, Laura and Christopher. Barb was later married to Bill Novak, who predeceased her. Barbara passed after a lengthy illness . She will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.
