Mrs. Alice J. Heckman Espich, 74, died at 4:30 a.m. Saturday at her home, 1456 Salamonie avenue, after a serious illness of nine weeks of paralysis. She had been in failing health for a year.
Mrs. Espich was born June 6, 1876, near Bluffton to Samuel and Christina Rothgeb Heckman and was married to Thomas Espich February 4, 1894. Surviving are the husband, a son, Kenneth, Dayton, Ohio; a granddaughter, Mrs. Betty Evans, Bemidji, Minn., and four great grandchildren, Judith K., Carol Ann, Jacqueline, and Thomas Evans.
The body has been returned to the residence from the Bailey mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the Church of the Nazarene, of which she was a member, with the Rev. Fred J. Hawk officiating.
Interment will be in Pilgrims Rest cemetary.
