Alvin P. Konkol
Alvin “Sprout” P. Konkol, 74, Amherst Junction, died at home Thursday, Feb 20, 1992 after a short Illness.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. James Catholic Church, Amherst. The Rev. Robert Pedretti will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home, Amherst. A rosary will be said at 8:15 p.m.
A memorial had been established to the Hospice of Portage County.
Mr. Konkol was born November 21, 1917, in the town of Amherst a son of the Late Leo and Agnes (Kenowski) Konkol.
He was married to the former Alice Kurszewski on August 30, 1941, in Polonia. She survives.
He was a member of St. James Catholic Church.
Survivors besides his wife include three sons, Ken (Barb) and Rick (Mary Jo) both of Amherst Junction, and David (Jodi), Altamonte Springs Fla.; two daughters, Jan Konkol Amherst, and Terri (Tom) Jensen, Amherst Junction; Three brothers, Stanley (hele), Polonia, and Rudy (Rita) and Eric (Dorothy), both of Stevens Point; four sisters, Wanda Longley and Pearl Patoka, both of Amherst Junction, Bernice (Ray) Rogoski, Stevens Point and Bertha Patoka, Milwaukee; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, two brothers and one sister.
