Verlyn Magnus Swee, 67, died Dec. 4, 2002 in Flagstaff, AZ.

He was born June 5, 1935 in Vermillion to Magnus and Ella (Hovde) Swee. He married Nancy Best April 24,1965. He graduated from The University of South Dakota. He was formerly employed at the Crippled Children's Hospital in Sioux Falls.

Survivors include his wife Nancy; a daughter, Sonja (David) Brightwell, Des Moines, IA; sons Eric (Toni) Swee, Urbandale, IA, Derik (Jennifer) Swee, Watertown, NY, and Bjorn (Amy) Swee, Esaley, SC; three grandchildren; two brothers, Maynard (Marilyn) Swee, Soiux Falls, Marvin (Lorraine) Swee, Vermillion; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at Peace Lutheran Church in Holbrook. Flagstaff Mortuary, Flagstaff, AZ, was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials should be directed to the Bread of Life Mission in Holbrook or Lutheran Campus Ministry at Northern Arizona University.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and four sisters.
