Douglas Eugene "Gene" Potter, Sr. 72, of Kosciusko, MS; passed away Tuesday, February 07, 2012, at the Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS. Visitation is Thursday, February 09, 2012 from 5-8 pm. Services will be held Friday, February 10, 2012 at Culpepper Funeral Home Chapel in Kosciusko with burial following in Bethel Cemetery in Kosciusko. Jerry Meggs will officiate the services.
Mr. Potter was born July 29, 1939, in Troopsburg, New York. He was a retired Dairy Farmer and was affiliated with the 4-H and the Future Farmers of America. He was preceded in death by parents Andrew and Gertrude Davis Potter.
He is survived by wife Patricia (Pat) Potter; daughters Debbie Potter of Kosciusko, Dina Potter of San Antonio, TX, Margaret Shelton of Purcellville, VA, Tamerlane Moore of Biloxi, MS; sons Douglas E. Potter, Jr. and David Potter of Kosciusko, Theodore (Tedd) Potter of Madison, MS; sisters Joyce Adcock of McAdams, Marilyn Thurston of Avon, NY; brothers Charlie Potter of Dansville, NY, Lewis Potter of Avon, NY; nine grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Potter, Jared Potter, Joe Adcock, Ryan Upton, Torrance Shelton and Tim Moore.
