Don Evans
GREENVILLE — Don Evans, 73, of Greenville passed away Feb. 6, 2012, at his home.
He was born Aug. 17, 1938, in Hunt County to John Hillary and Edith Holder Evans.
Don was a truck driver for more than 36 years, and he enjoyed participating in truck rodeo. He was of the Baptist faith. On Dec. 1, 1956, he married the love of his life, Lou Ann Turner. They were married for 55 years.
Don is survived by his wife of Greenville; a son, Michael Evans of Miller Grove; daughters Kristi Evans of Greenville and Vicki Chase and husband Alton of Point; sisters Jessie Arnold of Arlington, Brooksie Rogers of Greenville and Joanne Gardner of Irving; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother Dale Evans on March 25, 2011; brothersWeldon, J.H., and Ray Evans; sisters Lucreta Tyler, Mildred Allison, Robbie Talley and Janice White; and a grandson, Christopher Edwards.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday in the Lynch Funeral Service chapel in Greenville with Chaplain Brian Ford, assistant pastor of Harvest Bible Church, Bro. Scott, and Raymond Turner officiating. Interment will follow at Prospect Cemetery in Emory.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Rocky Kimbell, Herman Hendrix, Michael Evans Jr., Brian Evans, Jordan Cain, and Ronnie Evans. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Zachary Dove and Casey Roest.
