Mr. Fortner was a member of First Baptist Church, Lambert, MS and a WWII US Army veteran.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 11 at First Baptist Church, Lambert from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Lambert Cemetery, Lambert, MS.
Mr. Fortner was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Mae Cannon Fortner and a son, Joe David Fortner. He is survived by four daughters, Betty Easley (Charles) of Olive Branch, MS, Rita Pittman (Rodger) of New Albany, MS, Deborah Wimberly (Mike) of Clarksdale, MS, Wanda McClure (Charles) of Batesville, MS; four sons, Allen Fortner of Vance, MS, Wallace Fortner (Barbara) of Maben, MS, Paul David Fortner (Pam) of Sumner, MS, Stanley Fortner (Nancy) of Water Valley, MS; one brother, Buck Fortner (Norma Jean) of Lambert, MS; 21 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
