JOSEPH H. BROGAN (Democrat), Senator from the Thirty-third District; born March 30, 1880; educated in the parochial schools, the public schools and
St. Louis University, St. Louis, Mo.
He was an attorney who was married to Anna Nemov Brogan and lived at 1916 Warren Street in St. Louis. He had been prominent in Missouri Democratic politics for years
and has been elected to the Missouri Senate eight consecutive times, the last being in 1936.
In the 59th General Assembly he was elected majority floor leader and also acted as chairman of the Committee on Public Health and the Committee on Accounts. In the 60th General Assembly he was President Pro Tem and was chairman of the Committee on Accounts, and a member of the
following other committees: Judiciary; Ways and Means; Criminal Jurisprudence; Municipal Corporations; Public Health; Insurance; Roads and Highways; Private Corporations; Railroads and Internal Improvements.
