JOHN B. PENCE
John B. Pence, 72, life-long resident of Mt Holly, died at his home there Friday afternoon at 5:45 o'clock. He was stricken with a cerebral embolism in October and had partially recovered but suffered a second stroke Monday night and never regained consciousness.
Mr. Pence was born April 26, 1863 in the house where he died and where he had lived his entire life. He was well-known both in Greene and Warren Counties. He was a member of the Masonic lodge at Waynesville, and the Scottish Rite and Antioch Temple of Shriners, Dayton.
A brother, Frank A., who lived with him, survives.
The remains have been removed to the Neeld Funeral Home, this city, where friends may call Sunday afternoon or evening. Funeral services will be conducted at the Mt. Holly M. E. Church Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. T. M. Scarff in charge. Burial will be made at Miami Cemetery, Corwin.
