BARRIE, Kenneth 80 of Kettering Ohio, departed this life on October 11, 2011 at Hospice House of Dayton. He was born on May 2,1931 in Turton, SD, the son of Lawrence and Augusta Barrie. On November 18,1961, he married the love of his life, Beverly Ann McMahon . Ken was a veteran of the US Air Force, serving in the Korean War, a member of VFW Post 598, of Kettering, a 40 year member of St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, and retired from Premier Rubber Company. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Kenneth (Dale) Barrie, brothers, Gerald, Donald, and Lyle Barrie, and a Sister Helen. He is survived by his wife Beverly of Kettering; Son Keith(Myra)of Middletown, grandson Matthew of Centerville; two brothers, Richard Barrie and Joe (Betty) Barrie of Turton SD: two Sisters Mavis Wherry (Bob) of Santee, CA and Doris (Willard) Schwartz of Redfield SD, especially close cousins, Mike (Sandy) Bultman: Stephen (Monica) Bultman, Connie (Joel) Kempton, and Betty Wilder: numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. The family will receive friends at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave. at Rahn Rd. Monday, October 13, 2011, from 6 to 8 pm. American Legion Post # 598 will conduct a service at 7:45 pm Monday, at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 am Tuesday, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4500 Ackerman Blvd. Interment, Abbottsville Cemetery.
