Mr. Earnest was born in Wayne City, son of John and Mary Josephine Earnest. He was a retired farmer, former Crooked Creek Township road commissioner, member of the Falmouth United Methodist Church, Modern Woodmen of America and Jasper County Farm Bureau. He married Opal Webster in 1925.
Surviving are his wife; sons, Floyd of Newton, Norman of Olney, Neil of Mt. Carmel, Donald of Florissant, Mo; brothers, Ora of El Cajon, Calif., Dale of Mobile. Ala., Eugene of Phoenix, Ariz.; sister, Mrs. Eunice Baisch of Maybee, Mich.
One son, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
