Romilda (Verrato)Acciavatti, 100, wife of the late Simone Acciavatti, died early Tuesday morning at her home, following an illness of several months.
Born in Abruzzi(sic), Italy, daughter of the late Raphael and Anna Varrato, she lived in Beverly, Mass. most of her life.
Mrs Aciavatti and her husband owned Acciavatti's Market on Davis and Elliott Streets for many years.
On July 2,1992, five generations celebrated Mrs. Acciavatti's 100th birthday at Danversport Yacht Club.
Surviving are seven daughters: Theresa Gorini, Ann Bucci, Valia Morin, Amelia Lyons-Pendleton, Desi Ward, Matilda Hyde and Lorraine Mead, all of Beverly; two sons, Armand Richiuts of Salem and Thomas Acciavatti of beverly; 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Her husband died in 1966.
Funeral from the Campbell Funeral Home,Beverly, on Thursday, followed by a funeral mass at St Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot St., Beverly. Burial in St Mary's Cemetery, Beverly.
