Services will be a the Little Chapel of the Chimes at 11 a.m. Saturday for Mrs. Madeline Wright Matthews, 4822 NE 13th Ave., who died at a local nursing home Wednesday, after four years of ill health.
Mrs. Matthews was born at Loogootee, Ind., Feb. 14, 1875. She moved to Eugene in 1913, where she was active in the Christian church. In 1922 they lived in Gardiner, moving to Portland in 1924.
Survivors include a son, Courtland, Portland, and six nieces, none in Oregon.
The Rev. Dr. William L. Killian will conduct the services. Vault interment will be at Riverview Abbey. The family suggests that remembrances be in the form of donation to the Oregon Society for Crippled Children and Adults.
