MADISON--Noah J. Frey, age 91, formerly of 401 N. Midvale, died on Sunday, November 10, 1974, at Oakwood Lutheran Home. Born February 20, 1883, in Sterling, Illinois, he was married June 30, 1909 to Cynthia Probert. He attended Carroll College at Waukesha and the University of Wisconsin. In 1911 he became secretary and manager of the Wisconsin Life Insurance Co. in Madison. He became president in 1922 and served until 1945. He later became chairman of the board. Mr. Frey was one of the founders of the United Fund. He was on the Board of the Madison General Hospital, the Madison Public Library and the Madison Bank and Trust Co. He was a trustee of Carroll College. He was a 60 year member of the Christ Presbyterian Church. He had been a 33rd Degree Mason since 1940. He belonged to Madison Lodge No. 5, the Madison Scottish Rite Bodies, and the Zor Temple. He was a former active member of the Supreme Council and a past deputy of the Scottish Rite for the State of Wisconsin. Survivors include his wife and a daughter, Miss Margaret Frey, New York. Funeral services will be held at the Frautschi Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Rd. at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday Nov. 13. The Rev. John Wimberly officiating. Burial in Forest Hills Cemetery. Friends may call from 12 noon-1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13.
