Falls Dead While Washing Dishes
While washing dishes about 6:30 Wednesday evening, Mrs. Christina Heckman, who made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Thomas Espich, 1055 Ogan Avenue, dropped dead. Mrs. Heckman had been in her usual health and it is thought that her death was caused by heart trouble.
Mrs. Heckman, was born March 6, 1839, in Gallia Co., Ohio, to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rathgeb. She was married to Samuel Heckman and four children were born, all of whom are living. She has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Thomas Espich in this city, for about twenty-five years. She was also a resident of Markle for some time. Mr. Heckman is dead.
Surviving her are the four children, Mrs. Susan Dailey, of near Simpson; Henry Heckman, Huntington; Mrs. Armina DeWitt, Elkhart, Ind.; and Mrs. Alice Espich, Huntington; one sister, Miss Anna Rathgeb, of Sioux City, Ia; and nine grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of Brethren at Markle.
Funeral services will be held at the home 1055 Ogan Aveenue, Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. The Rev. I. B. Wike will be in charge. Burial will be at Markle.
