Obituary of T.J. Giblin
T.J. Giblin died at his home in Denison at 7:25 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16 following a brief illness. He attained the age of 77 years, 7 months and 22 days.
Thomas J. Giblin was born on March 26, 1870, in Brooklyn, N.Y. At the age of three months he moved to Sterling, Ill., with his parents, and when 12 years old came with them to Crawford County, making their home on a farm south of Vail.
He was united in marriage with Eliza Flynn at Vail on Jan. 22, 1897. They continue making their home on a farm near Vail until twenty years ago when they retired and moved to Denison.
He is survived by his widow, two daughters, Marguerite, Mrs. Herbert Moeller, of Denison and Mabel, Mrs. Charles Wilson of San Fernando, Calif., and one foster son, Jim Higgins of Vail; also by seven grandchildren. Two daughters, Anna May and Myrtle and a son, George, preceded him in death.
Mr. Giblin was a member of Saint Rose of Lima Church where services will be held Friday morning at 9:30 o'clock with the Rev. Father E.F. Casey officiating. Interment will be made in Saint Ann's cemetery at Vail
