She is survived by her husband, Joseph John Wallace and two children, John and Michelle.
She initially was an intern with U. S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) in Chicago. In 1999, she officially began her law enforcement career as a special agent with INS. She continued to serve with distinction in that role within U. S. ICE, HSI Chicago.
