Mrs. Fannie Brooks Alverson, 83, widow of Thomas Alverson, of Nicholasville, died at her home on Depot street, Sunday, Nov. 8, after a long illness. She was a member of the Nicholasville Methodist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. William Gorham, Chattanooga, Tenn; Mrs. E. M. Newman, Arlington, Va., and Miss Edna Alverson, Nicholasville; two sons, Stanley Alverson, Nicholasville, and Welch Alverson, Lexington; a sister, Mrs. Josephine Walters, Jessamine County; five brothers, Walter S. Brooks, Denver, Colo.; J. L. Brooks, and Floyd Brooks, Nicholasville; and Ovid Brooks, Charleston, Ind.; and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Betts and West Funeral home by the Rev. C. D. Harsh. Burial was in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Pall bearers were Forest, Gilbert, William and Allen Brooks, Ray Myers, and Jouett Walter. Jessamine Journal issue of Nov. 12, 1959.
