Mrs. Ruthe Edwards, Indian Artist, Dies

Mrs. Ruthe M. Edwards, Harlowton, formerly of Great Falls, and a noted Indian artist and author, died Tuesday in San Antonio, Tex., where she was visiting a daughter.

The body will arrive at the George Co. Mortuary Sunday, and burial will be at Bynum at a time to be announced by the George Co.

Mrs Edwards was the author of the book, "American Indians of Yesterday," which she illustrated with drawings of 63 Indian chiefs.

A New Yorker by birth, she came to Montana in 1914. She lived at Bynum for 12 years and was a postmistress there for six years. While in Great Falls, she made her home at 608 6th Ave. N. and 621 5th Ave. N., and was a check writer for nine years at Malmstrom Air Force Base.

For the past three years she had made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Baker of Harlowton. Also surviving are the daughter in San Antonio, Mrs. Marion Sunvison; a son, Paul Searles of Topeka, Kan., and two grandchildren.

**Correction Ruthe was not visiting her daughter in San Antonio, they were both living in San Antonio, Texas.
In original obit the spelling of Mrs. Marion Sunvison is spelled incorrect.
