Thomas S. Abbott, 69, of Liberty Hill Ave., Salem, Mass., formerly of Beverly, died yesterday after a long illness. He was employed at the USM Corp plant before his retirement.
Born in Lowell, he lived in Beverly for over 30 years and in Salem for the past 11 years.
He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of WWII and a member of the USM Corp. Quarter Century Club.
He leaves his wife, Barbara P.(Patch) Abbott; one son, Bruce T. Abbott of Beverly; a daughter, Cynthia Leveille of Essex; one brother, Harvey C. Abbott; 8 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services tomorrow at Campbell Funeral Home, 526 Cabot St. Burial in North Beverly Cemetery.
