He was born April 6, 1924, in Walton County, Fla., to Ethard and Exey Brown Toole. Mr. Toole was a lifelong resident of Walton County. He was Presbyterian by faith and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in DeFuniak Springs. He was a veteran of World War II, serving his country in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper. He also worked 43 years with Civil Service at Eglin Air Force Base as Special Activities Chief; and also having worked an additional 24 years at Eglin Air Force Base. He was an avid beekeeper. He also enjoyed hunting, raising horses, buggy racing, fishing and farming.
Mr. Toole was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Stanford and William Toole. Mr. Toole is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Reta J. Toole of DeFuniak Springs; three sons, Donald Toole and wife, Ann, of Birmingham, Ala., Ronald Toole and wife, Angie, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Brian Toole and wife, Sharon, of Bremen, Ga.; five grandchildren, Melinda Gunter and husband, Trey, Amy Toole, Ben Toole, Jesse Toole and Sarah Brown; and two great-grandchildren, Susannah and Caroline.
