Douglas A. Briggs, 64, of Duanesburg, died at home on Monday, December 27, 2010. Douglas was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a graduate of Duanesburg High School. Following graduation, Douglas joined the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1967. He was an avid train collector and was a member of several preservation societies. Douglas was predeceased by his parents, Wilson C. and Lillian Van Vranken Briggs. He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Janis Krause Briggs; two children, Jason Briggs, and his wife, Sue of Schenectady, and Sarah Briggs of Delanson; one brother, Fred Briggs and his wife, Geri of Altamont; and three granddaughters, Noelle, Mandy and Brianne Call hours will be at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave.
