JOHN C. ‘Moccasin' COUCH was born circa 1812-1815 in Virginia and died after the 1880 census in Perry Co. In each census John and Rachel give a different age so it is not known in which year they were born. John was the son of Martin Couch and Sarah Hall. John was married to Rachel COMBS on 4-22-1837 in Perry Co., Ky. Rachel COMBS was born in circa 1819-1829 in Clay Co., Ky. and died after 1880 census in Perry Co. She was the daughter of Henry Combs and Nancy Ann Brown. John and Rachel lived on Brownsfork. They are buried in the family cemetery behind their old home place. These are the children of John and Rachel:
