Zella Cook, Jan. 2, 1905 - April 16, 2002, Zella COOK, 97, Rochester, formerly of Fulton, died at 6 a.m. today at Life Care Center, Rochester. Born in Hawkins County, Tenn., to Andrew Jackson and Verna MANIS CARTER, she married Walter T. COOK Jan. 31, 1920, in Spartanburg, S.C. He died Oct. 5, 1979. Mrs. Cook, a homemaker, was a member of Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include six daughters, Estella EADS and husband Porter, Roanoke, Betty COLDREN, Pierceton, Barbara HUDSON and husband Kenneth, Claypool, Annette GEORG, Warrenton, Mo., Hazel Ann GOINGS and husband Roscoe, South Whitley, Jane CHAMP and husband Gary, Fulton; three sons, James Forest [COOK] and wife Thelma, Kimmell, Howard Dean [COOK] and wife Carolyn, Rochester, George [COOK] and wife Betty, New Haven; one sister, Inez NELSON and husband Paul, Kingsport; one brother, Willard CARTER, Gate City, Va.; 38 grandchildren; 78 great-grandchildren; 42 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Preceding in death with her husband were four sisters, two brothers, one daughter, Phyllis RAUTENKRANZ, two sons, O.A. COOK and A.J. COOK, one granddaughter, one grandson and one great-granddaughter. Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rochester Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Don MEYER officiating. Burial will be at Fulton Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, and one hour prior to services at the church.
