Mrs. Nannie E. Gartrell, aged 73 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Geo. Runyon, in Leonard, Monday morning at eleven o'clock, following a serious illness of about a months duration, tho she had been in failing health for the past year. Death was due to a complication of diseases.
Mrs. Gartrell, whose maiden name was Allen, was born at Louisiana, Mo., August 25, 1853, and came to Shelby county in early childhood. In December 1867 she was married to Chas. F. Bradley, who died some seventeen years ago. Seven children, six of whom are living, were born to this union and are: Otis G.; Mrs. Gordon McWilliams; J.T. Bradley; Mrs. Iden Worland and Mrs. Geo. Runyon, all of the Leonard community and W.M. Bradley of Toledo, Oregon.
In 1923, she was again married this time to J.A. Gartrell and they made their home at Fargo, Okla., until a short time ago. Besides the husband and the above children, she is also survived by one brother, J.J. Allen of Macon county.
She was a member of the New Providence Presbyterian church, and the funeral services were held there this morning at eleven o'clock, conducted by Rev. F.M. Branic of Shelbyville. Interment was in the church cemetery.
