SWANTON — Herman H. Steiding Sr., 91, of Swanton, died Monday at his home.

He was born in Swanton, Nov. 13, 1911, and was a son of the late, Herman Steiding and Sue (Beckman) Steiding.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Freeda (Howell) Steiding; and one daughter.

Mr. Steiding was a retired dairy farmer.

He is survived by one son, Herbert H. Steiding Jr., Aurora, W.Va.; two daughters, Bonnie J. Sunny, Swanton, and Martha S. Slaughter, also of Aurora; 11 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home, Thursday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Father Donald Parson officiating.

Interment will be in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.

The family request that in lieu of flowers members take the form of contribution, to Hospice of Garrett County or the Southern Garrett County Rescue Squad
