THOMAS, JUNE H. - age 78 of Knoxville, died 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at her home. She was a member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church and attended Shomair Yisrael Messianic Jewish Congregation. Preceded in death by husband of 50 years, Jerry J. Thomas and son-in-law, Tommy Grimes. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca T. and Kirby Rothenburger of Taylor Mill, Kentucky; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Mary Thomas of Gallatin, Tennessee, David and Anne Thomas of Bowling Green, Kentucky; grandchildren, Jennifer Jones and husband, John, Rebekah Thomas, Lisa Armstrong and husband, T.J., Jonathan Thomas, Joy Neely and husband, David, Matthew Thomas, Catharine Lesemann, Grant Rothenburger; great-grandchildren, Nathan and Benjamin Neely, Jake Thomas Short; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jacqueline Greene of Knoxville, Janice and Dwayne Wyatt of New Johnsonville, Tennessee, Bill and Oritha Thomas of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 14, 2011 at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway. Family and friends will meet on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Woodlawn Cemetery for a 3:00 p.m. graveside service with Rabbi Michael Weiner officiating. In addition to flowers, memorials may be made to Appalachian Children's Fund, c/o Sevier Heights Baptist Church, 3232 Alcoa Highway, Knoxville, Tennessee 37920 or to Martha Jefferson Hospital, c/o Cancer Care Center, 479 Locust Avenue, Charlottesville, Virginia 22902 for the Tommy Grimes Memorial Fund.
