Thomas was a son of Thomas Pierce and Mary Wyman. He married Mary Parkhurst in Windham County, Connecticut. They had eight children; three, who were in their early twenties, died during the smallpox epidemic in Spring of 1751. Two others died early, one before her eleventh birthday and another eighteen days after she had turned thirteen. John, William and Eunice were the only children to live to late adulthood.
