Avis – Doran B. Driver, of this place, died Sunday morning in the Jersey Shore Hospital. A retired repairman of the New York Central Railroad, he was born in this vicinity October 26, 1884 to Sophara Eckhart and Mary Viola Nearhood Driver.

Survivors include his wife Bessie Wasson, whom he married December 21, 1904 at the United Methodist Church in Willaimsport; six daughters, Mrs. Chester Snyder, Jersey Shore, Mrs. Howard Smith and Mrs. Charlotte Lehman, both of Albany New York, Mrs. Walter Haight and Mrs. Richard Wolfe, both of Avis and Mrs. Paul Riggle of Harrisburg; six sons, Earl and LaVerne, of Avis, Ray of Williamsport, Hile and Willard of Albany, New York and Max, Fort Knox KY; two brothers, Benjamin of Chester and Warren of Beech Creek, four sisters, Mrs. Charles Peck, Mrs. Minnie Mader and Mrs. Cora Johnson of Lock Haven, and Mrs. John Stayner of Mill Hall; 22 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the residence in Avis at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow for Doren B Driver, of that place, who died Sunday May 29, 1949 in the Jersey Shore Hospital. The Reverend Frank W Ake will officiate. Interment will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery. Thomas R Downs, funeral director.
