Joann Heffernan, 83, of Danville died at 4:16 p.m. Friday (Feb. 3, 2012) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
She was born on May 3, 1928 in Kinmundy, Illinois to Dwight J. and Ruth Alexander. She married Harold Heffernan on June 13, 1953 in Seymour. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, James Alexander.
She survived by her three sons, Michael (Mary) Heffernan of Danville, Kelly (Tammy) Heffernan of Danville and Patrick (Michelle) Heffernan of Coppell, Texas; five grandchildren, Katie (Lance) Vanvekoven and Ryan, Emily, Nicholas and Caitlin Heffernan; two step-grandchildren, Wesley and Christopher Brady; one great-grandchild, Caryss Vanvekoven; a
sister, Jean (Louis) Buchka of Urbana and her sister-in-law, Barbara Alexander of Kinmundy.
