Mary Erma Anderson, 89, Laconia, died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012, at Lincoln Hills Healthcare Center in New Albany. Born May 24, 1922, in Elizabeth, the daughter of the late Roy and Dora Belle Glaze Ward.

She had been a production worker at the ICI plant in Charlestown, was the owner of Anderson's Basketry with her husband, where she hand-weaved baskets, and was a member of Old Capitol Wheelers Square Dance Club, Southern Indiana Flower Club, Southern Indiana Craft Guild and Rehobeth Presbyterian Church.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice (Sonny) Anderson; a son, Johnnie Anderson; a sister, Barbara Hamlin; a brother, Billie Ward; and a granddaughter, Dawn Marie Anderson.

Survivors include a son, Eddie Anderson of Laconia; three daughters, Mary Jean Knear of Elizabeth and Paula Hensley and Jane Caudill, both of Laconia; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Tuesday, Feb. 7, from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 8, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday, Feb. 9, after 9 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon. Funeral: Thursday, Feb. 9, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Rehobeth Cemetery in Laconia. Officiant: Dr. Frank Hainer.
