The 1850 Census shows Hannah J. Lewis (age 11, born in Indiana) living in Middle Township (which then included present day Union Township), Hendricks County, Indiana with parents Stephen C. (age 37) and Nancy (age 31) and siblings Stephen T. (age 15), John (age 9), William (age 7) and Thomas (age 5). The 1860 Census shows Hannah J. Lane (age 21) living in New Elizabeth (later Lizton), Hendricks County, Indiana in the household of her brother Stephen J. Lewis (age 23).
