Rachel Mae Laws, 86, born March 31, 1925 of Nellis went home to be with her Lord on February 4, 2012, after a short illness at CAMC Memorial.
She was the greatest wife, mother and grandmother and friend. She served the Lord by the wonderful life and example that she lived each day of her life. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 ½ years;two sons-in-law, Mike Adkins and Roy Perdue, Sr.; a daughter-in-law, Robin Laws; and a granddaughter, Melodie Laws.
She is survived by her 13 children, Harold Laws of South Carolina, Jesse Laws, Jr. and companion Joyce Lucas of Spencer, Alice Perdue of Nellis, Roger Laws of Ridgeview, Donna and husband Charles Ikner of Cross Lanes, Sandra and husband Stephen Spradling of Charleston, Terry and wife Shillia Laws of Nellis, Michael and wife Lora Laws of Florida, Kathy and husband Sean Perdue, Danny Laws, Judith and husband Brian Buskirk of Nellis, Kista and husband Darrell Atkins of Bloomingrose, and Jeff and Dawn Laws of Nellis. To us she was the greatest mom who God could give a child. She has 41 grandchildren, 74 great- grandchildren and 7 great-great–grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feruary 8, 2012 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV. Burial will follow in Family Gardens, Madison.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
