Bertie was the Daughter of Robert Lamar and Kate Davis Walker. She died at the age of four due to a possible stomach tumor according to the account given me by my Father, her brother, Clyde D. Walker. Clyde related that he had been fishing and was walking home with his catch when he was met on the road by one of his younger brothers and informed that Bertie had died. At the Funeral, their mother Kate Davis Walker was so overcome with emotion that she had to sit on the end of the unmarked brick grave located just to the front of the cemetery from Bertie's grave. My dad believes his mother never quite recovered from the loss of Bertie and the trama may have contributed to Kate's early death at age 43.
