RETIRED RAIL AGENT IS DEAD
Samuel George Dye, 2634 Quincy avenue died at 4:30 o'clock this morning. He was born January 3, 1862, in Boston, Mass. He was a retired station agent of the Oregon Short Line. Surviving are the widow, Mary Reid Dye, and the following sons and daughters: Mrs. J. H. Andrews, Miss Beatrice Dye, Maynard Dye, Glen Dye and Walter Dye, all of Ogden; four grand children and the following sisters also survive: Mrs. H. M. Honn, Bakersfield, Calif.: Mrs. M. A. Gray of Ogden; Miss Grace M. Dye, Pocatello, and Mrs. H. W. Moore, Oakland.
Funeral arrangements are in charge of Larkin and Sons.

Ogden Standard Examiner September 20, 1928

Services for Samuel C. Dye, retired station agent, will be held on Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock in the chapel of Larkin & Sons, with Bishop David J. Wilson presiding. The body may be viewed at the chapel on Saturday afternoon and evenong and also on Sunday until time of services. Interment will be made in the Ogden city cemetery.
