Clarence X. Lefevre, 78, of Seventh St., Plainfield, died Tuesday morning, (October 30, 2001) at the Pierce Memorial Baptist Home in Brooklyn. He was born in Dayville, November 18, 1922, a son of the late Ferdinand and Elodia (Briere) Lefevre. Mr. Lefevre was a graduate of the former Putnam Trade School. He was a Veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Lefevre was the owner and operator of Plainfield Citgo for over 40 years and established the former Coco's Restaurant. He was a founding member of the American Legion Ambulance Corps. Mr. Lefevre was a member and past commander of the William L. Mercier Post 5446 VFW. He was a life member of the Danielson Lodge of Elks and was a former Auxiliary state trooper. He was an avid bowler, Red Sox and UCONN Basketball fan. Mr. Lefevre was a communicant of St. John The Apostle Church. He was the husband of Lucille (Desaulniers) Lefevre, who died April 15, 1998. Survivors include three sons, Ronald Lefevre, Russell Lefevre, both of Plainfield and Leo Lefevre of Greenfield Center, NY; three daughters, Elaine Zavistoski of Hebron, Diane Palmer of Salem and Beverly Lefevre of Plainfield; two sisters, Margaret Desaulniers of Norwich and Lillian Giguere of Danielson; 16 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A son, Robert Lefevre predeceased him in February of 1998, and also seven brothers. The funeral will be held Friday, 9:15 a.m. from Dougherty Bros. Funeral Home, 595 Norwich Rd., Plainfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. in St. John The Apostle Church. Burial with Military Honors in St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours are TODAY, 6-9 p.m.
