Singer. Born in Queens, New York, she was best remembered for being a singer and a member of the 1960s group the Shangri-Las. In 1963, along with her twin sister Mary Ann Ganser, Betty Weiss and Mary Weiss, they were performing at talent shows when they recorded their first song "Simon Says" on the Smash label. Between 1963 to 1968, their many hits included "Wishing Well", "Hate To Say I Told You So", "I Can Never Go Home Anymore" and "Leader of the Pack". In 2004, their 1964 recording of "Remember, Walking In The Sand" placed number 395 on Rolling Stone Magazine's list of 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
