Obituary - Nancy Jane Boone

Nancy Jane (Tucker) Boone, daughter of John and Martha A. Tucker was born near Bradyville February 27, 1848, and died at her home in Manchester, September 14, 1915, aged 67 yrs. 6 mos. and 17 days. She was married to Henry H. Boone September 28, 1865 and had she lived until the twenty-eight day of this month they would have been married a half century. Twelve children were born to them, seven of whom are living, namely: Jemima A. Gray, Bertha L. Mitchel, Emma L. Fry, Simon E. Boone, and John W. Boone, of Manchester, Henry P. Boone, of Georgetown, O. and Louie E. Kress, of Sterling, Neb. Mrs. Boone in company with her husband united with the Enon Christian church, under the preaching of Matthew Gardner, in December of the year 1865, and gave almost fifty years of splendid service in the cause of Christ. Her ministries to humanity will ever be remembered, for in this grace she far excelled. What she was was evident to the people with whom she mingled and lived. Patient, sympathetic, enduring, lofty in faith she was the joy and comfort of him whose name she bore. Patient, trustful, heroic. Anxious to serve but ready to depart and be with Christ. She departed in the faith in which she had lived; the faith that gives constant victory.

He liveth long who liveth well!
All other life is short and vain;
She liveth longest, who can tell,
Of living most for heavenly gain.

She liveth long who liveth well!
All else is being thrown away;
She liveth longest, who can tell,
Of true things, truely done each day.
