Thomas E. Baker, 86, of 141 Church St., New Hope, died Tuesday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Old Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon Etheredge and the Rev. Ronald Wells officiating. Burial will be in Baker Cemetery with New Hope Funeral Home in charge. Survivors include his wife, Maude C. Baker; a son, Billy Ray Baker Sr. of Huntsville; two daughters, Eva Alverson and Barbara Mitchell, both of Huntsville; two sisters, Kate Baker of Huntsville and Hattie Maples of New Hope; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
