Vera Maude Mann, 82, of Fort Scott, died Saturday evening, Feb. 21, 2004, at Fort Scott Manor Nursing Home. She was born June 27, 1921, at Devon, to Emery and Rosie Hall Rhoades. She married Chandos Marion "Red" Mann on July 23, 1938, at Nevada, Mo. He preceded her in death Sept. 30, 1976. Survivors include one son, Bill Mann of Pleasanton; two daughters, Patsy Holtz and Bonnie Meek, both of Fort Scott; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Tommy Mann; two daughters, Rosemary Button and Carol Mann; one brother, Emery Rhoades Jr.; two sisters, Velma Walker and Hazel Tesch; and two great-grandson, Samuel Adam Michael Holtz Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home at Fort Scott with the Rev. Marty DeWitt officiating. Burial will be in Centerville Cemetery near Devon. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home of Fort Scott.
