Vivian was born in Council Bluffs Iowa to Paul Portsche Sr. and Zerna Hazel Strom Batten. Always very sensitive about her birth date, I have chosen to respect that and not list it here. She was married twice, once to William Edward Coatney in 1935 and a second time to Leo Ramey (Jeb) Stuart in 1955. She was the mother of two children, Sarajane Coatney and Edward Paul Coatney. She was the greatest grandmother in the history of grandmothers. She weaved love and truck loads of fun along with discipline and respect. If that meant dressing as a pirate and chasing her grand children around the house, so be it. Her paternal grand parents were Georg Portschy and Rosina Keopplinger. Her maternal grand parents were Arthur Leonard Batten and Carrie E. Warren. She is buried next to her husband Leo (Jeb) Stuart in Wyuka Cemetery, Lincoln Nebraska, Lancaster County.
