Services for Torval H. Anderson of 6410 Morrill, Lincoln were held Saturday, April 11 at 1 pm at the Hodgman-Splain Chapel with the Rev. E. C. Hansen of United Lutheran church of Lincoln. Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Lincoln. (Pallbearers listed)
Torval H. Anderson was born to Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Anderson December 2, 1900 at Brayton, Iowa.
He passed away April 8, 1953 at Beatrice, Nebraska at the age of 52 years, 4 months and 6 dyas.
He had gone to Beatrice that day with the Ford Van Lines to attend to his work and was suddenly stricken by a heart attack.
He was baptized by Rev. Rhine and became a member of the Trinity Lutheran church of Wolbach.
He was united in marriage to Barbara Douthit February 5, 1921. To this union was born 4 children. A son, Lt. Dale Anderson was killed over the Sea of Japan while on Korean patrol duty, December 26,1952. He was preceded in death by his son, his father, mother, two brothers and a sister.
He leaves to mourn his departure: his wife, Barbara, two daughters, Elaine of Humbolt and Mary Leah at home, a son, Chief Aviation Officer, Donald W. of Corpus Christi, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Wibbels of Columbia, Mo and Lollie Wibbels of Wolbach; two brothers, Chris M. of Wolbach and Bartle F. of Griswold, Iowa and two grandchildren.
He was manager of the Farmers Co-op Elevator at Wolbach before moving to Lincoln in 1936. In August 1945 he moved to Fulton, Mo., where he was owner and manager of the Anderson Paint co. for five years.
He returned to Lincoln in February 1950 and was employed by the Ford Van Lines at the time of his death.
