David Lee Barnaby, 73, of Vandalia, MI passed away at 7:55 PM Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Three Rivers Health. David was self employed for many years. He owned and operated Barnaby Dry Wall, Black Cow Ice Cream Parlor-100 Center, Wray's Ice Cream, Elkhart and Dave's Shell Station, Mishawaka. Dave retired in 2005 from Indiana Chair Frame Co., Middlebury, IN after 17 years of service. Dave was born on December 27, 1936 in Mishawaka, IN to Claude and Alice (Clark) Barnaby and remained a lifelong area resident. On March 23, 1961 in South Bend, IN he married the former Lynne Witt, who survives.

Along with his wife, Lynne Barnaby, Dave is survived by two sons, Chris Barnaby of New Carlisle, IN and Mark (Tiffany) Barnaby of St. Louis, MO; two grandchildren, Kayla and Max Barnaby; and one brother, James (Bonnie) Barnaby of Jackson, GA. and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Son Scott and four brothers, Harry, Mike, Gilbert and Fred Barnaby all preceded Dave in death.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, September 30, 2010 at St. John of the Cross Episcopal Church, 601 E. Vistula Street, Bristol, IN. Rev. Corrine Hodges will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday in Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave, South Bend.
